Whether you’re exploring therapy for the first time or returning to the process, it’s completely normal to have questions. Below are some of the most common questions I hear from new and prospective clients. If you don’t see your question here, feel free to get in touch — I’m happy to help.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)?
Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is an innovative, evidence-based treatment that combines the use of low-dose ketamine with guided therapeutic support. It is particularly helpful for treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, and trauma. In my practice, I work only with adult clients for KAP and follow a thorough screening and preparation process to ensure it’s a safe and effective fit.

What is EMDR?
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a structured therapy designed to help people recover from traumatic memories and distressing experiences. EMDR uses bilateral stimulation—typically eye movements or tapping—to help process and resolve emotional pain. Many clients find EMDR to be especially effective for trauma, anxiety, and self-limiting beliefs.

Who do you work with?
I work primarily with adults and teens (14+) in the Longmont and Boulder County areas. My clients often come to me navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, life transitions, and depression. I also have specialized training in working with clients who identify as LGBTQ+, neurodiverse, or are exploring alternative therapies like KAP.

Are your sessions in-person or virtual?
I offer both in-person therapy sessions at my office in Longmont, CO, and secure telehealth sessions for clients throughout Colorado. You’re welcome to choose what works best for your comfort and lifestyle.

Do you offer sliding scale options?
Yes — I reserve a limited number of sliding scale spots for clients who may not be able to afford my full fee. Please reach out directly to inquire about current availability.

Do you take insurance?
I am currently out-of-network for most insurance providers. However, I can provide superbills (detailed receipts) for clients who wish to seek reimbursement through their insurance. Be sure to check with your provider to understand your out-of-network mental health benefits.

How often will we meet?
Most clients begin with weekly sessions, though frequency may vary based on your needs and goals. Some clients transition to biweekly or monthly sessions as they move forward in their work.

What can I expect in our first session?
Our first session is a chance to get to know each other. We’ll explore your goals, your history, and any concerns you’d like to address. It’s a collaborative conversation designed to help you feel heard and supported — and to make sure we’re a good fit for working together.
